Reminiscence

“We remind you of the responsibility of self-awareness. We share experiences to see that they are repeated and that in that repetition there is a solution. Art has become a bad student over time. Why? She was too preoccupied with things that shouldn't concern her and forgot the first lesson: she already knows everything. It has been there since the beginning of the world. Reminiscence is a moment in which everything is clear to you, you see everything, no matter how painful (or not). From that moment you draw the knowledge that you have the power of Change.

Reminiscence - there is nothing more terrible, nothing more powerful. That one moment, like a punch in the stomach, and a creepy thought: what if we realize that we already knew everything? Exactly, exactly, knew - predicted. No miracles, no magic - just logic. What a terrible responsibility - to see and know. But there is still something in that painful self-awareness. It's sweet. Bittersweet. If we surrender to him, what's the worst that can happen? Change? No, that's lukewarm too. And that's just a word. We seem to be living in a time where Change has become a worn out word. What should we do? Anyone else concerned about this? It probably worried us before. We just didn't do anything about it. Fear of responsibility easily prevails. Let's decide that we have no power - and the end. We don't see, we don't want, we don't exist. We read somewhere that we should live in the moment and we made that an excuse to erase our memory.

Here's what the scene of Reminiscence looks like: experiences lying aground on the ocean shore, entangled in nets. Where did they come from? From the depths we refuse to explore, and already have, the very memory scares us. From the darkness that we look at every day, and we keep silent. Art does not live in the moment. Art exists, remembers and reminds what will be. Art is reason, just interestingly packaged. Art is fear and solution, because they are together. ”

“Reminiscence is a work by young authors on the occasion of 50 years of my artistic work, which is not about me personally, but about perseverance in an open process of research, about the changeability of the world and the changeability of the theater. The project is not a repetition of what has already been achieved, but a new search, examination, research and experiment. In the time of turbulent apocalyptic reality, absurd state of dramatic theater and grotesque contemporary theater, this is a flash of the artist's freedom, will and decision. I am proud of the authors of this project, artists who enrich our cultural and artistic scene with creative potential in their personal projects. They sublimated their dreams into a mysterious story in the theater performance Reminiscence.
